Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

12-08-2009 10:33pm#1Like the 'Song of the Day' thread in the general music section of boards, I thought it would be good to get one going here too in experimental. Everyone can post one track per day that has meant something to them that day for whatever reason.
Today for me its 'Epilion' by Musicology (B12). Just listening again now and it really is a spectacular piece of electronica... absolutely love the intro and build into the track.

yep, that's pretty cool music for a Thursday morning, I can go for some more of that for sure.
At my end, today's early morning music of choice in advance of getting into the day's rehearsals was:

I have hated and loved that Orb album since I first bought it - at first I liked it, then I thought the vocals were a bit much but the last few tracks were real gems and back to Orb of old.. now I love the whole album and have got over the lyrics issue!
My track for today is from As One (Kirk Degiorgio) called Asa Nisi Masa (Scanner Remix). Not what you would expect either from As One or Scanner really except for some typical spoken word type samples here and there... otherwise very dramatic, cinematic and modern classical sounding... stunning from start to finish.

Another of the early tracks that got me into electronica, this from David Holmes under the alias 'Scubadevils', track called 'Celestial Symphony'. Still an absolute favourite to this day....
Huge memories of parties in a sound proof band practice room in Dublin back in 1994 once the clubs had closed, several amps, a CD player and a selection of discs to include this one - none of us had decks at that stage so we had to improvise! Worked well, great sessions!
