A BBCi News Report has stated that the Movie of The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy will still be going ahead.
A UK production firm has taken over the reins of a movie version of Douglas Adams' cult novel, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
Producer Nick Goldsmith, of Hammer and Tongs, confirmed a film version was still in the pipeline despite the death of the author in 2001.
Might be interesting, don't you think?

A UK production team? That's good news. I'd hate to see what Hollywood would do to the story.

I thought the old BBC mini series was very good, although aparently Dougles Adams didn't. It'll be interesting to see what kind of afilm they make.

and what source material they use for the script!

Just a shame that the one man who actually knew exactly what was what isn't around to see it through to the end.

Hopefully they'll stay true to the books though.

I'll belive it when I see it. I sued to think a Hitch-Hiker film would be great but then I remembered the radio series was much better than the TV show (low budget notwithstanding). Even if they get a 100 million to play with it wont be as good as the source material.

    Mike.

Adams had most of the movie script wrote, apparently. It's being polished by the Chicken Run writer, whose name I can't remember.
