    Has O neills sweet shop closed down,surely they cant leave it the way it is today in the middle of our high st...........

    Are you sure it's closing? The original Knick-Knack shop had a closing down sale for most of the 1990's, if you remember.

    Have a look at the place next time you pass by... the place is definitely closed! Everything has been taken out of it.

    It was well known it was closing down, just for definite on friday evening.

    I don't think they could compete, even though the shop in KK always had customers in it. I remember they had tins of chocolates in the window at Xmas and you could get them for nearly half the price in nearby Superquinn or Dunnes.
    Used buy the odd card in there but that was hardly big bucks and the rent on that shop is hardly cheap. Wonder what will go in instead?
    It needs a refurb...always smelt a bit musty or something :D
    Think there's one in Athy as well.
