Funny thing is if the Irish government gets wind of this, we'll end up with all kinds of ill-informed backbenchers and senators calling for legislation to close the deep web or ban bitcoins or something equally stupid and beyond their control.

There's stand alone 'Live' Linux distros like Tails, that make Tor a doddle.

    https://tails.boum.org/

Just burn it to CD\DVD, or dump it onto a USB thumb drive using Universal USB Installer:

People love to poo-poo Tor, land of Pedos and Drugs, but remember, there's a sizeable chunk of the planet where 'normal' services are blocked and/or accessing them may have you getting billy-clubbed, with some electrodes attached to your privvies, for good measure..

We are the exception, to this, anything-goes, internet 'freedom of movement'..

Unless you're doing something which might result in people/government/corporations trying to hunt you down then the Tor Browser Bundle is all you need.

Oh I agree. But someone in a very dodgy country, having a MicroSD loaded with a live distro, stashed somewhere, might be a life saver.

Just having the Tor Browser Bundle might get you into trouble.

EDIT: Just to say, from memory, I think the word I'd most associate with Tor is.. Iran. A country that has been obsessed with hobbling Tor for the last few years.

    We f***ing hope!

Someone on a blog referred to it as a share - I actually prefer that comparison. It's as secure as any share, that's going through a gigantic bubble.

There is a dispute resolution process, but I don't think many drug dealers give refunds :pac:

It's amusing me that in a few years time we might have lads down the pub giving out that the internet put them out of business in the heroin trade.

You'll find over any prolonged period of time the value of bitcoin has only gone up.

Bitcoin doesn't suffer from inflation due to banks inventing more currency out of thin air as the Euro might. There will only ever be 18 million bitcoins, and the supply of new ones until then is steady. It's the worlds first deflationary currency which makes it a very interesting experiment.

The Ultimate Guide for Anonymous and Secure Internet Usage v1.0.1
    Table of Contents:

    15. Installing Torchat (Optional)
    16. Creating TOR-Only Internet Environment
    17. General Daily Usage

By the time you are finished reading and implementing this guide, you will be able to securely and anonymously browse any website and to do so anonymously. No one not even your ISP or a government agent will be able to see what you are doing online. If privacy and anonymity is important to you, then you owe it to yourself to follow the instructions that are presented here.

In order to prepare this guide for you, I have used a computer that is running Windows Vista. This guide will work equally well for other versions of Windows. If you use a different operating system, you may need to have someone fluent in that operating system guide you through this process. However, most parts of the process are easily duplicated in other operating systems.

I have written this guide to be as newbie friendly as possible. Every step is fully detailed and explained. I have tried to keep instructions explicit as possible. This way, so long as you patiently follow each step, you will be just fine. In this guide from time to time you will be instructed to go to certain URLs to download files. You do NOT need TOR to get these files, and using TOR (while possible) will make these downloads very slow. This guide may appear overwhelming. Every single step is explained thoroughly and it is just a matter of following along until you are done. Once you are finished, you will have a very secure setup and it will be well worth the effort. Even though the guide appears huge, this whole process should take at the most a few hours. You can finish it in phases over the course of several days.

It is highly recommended that you close *ALL* applications running on your computer before starting.
Found this on the rogan board about tor,if anyone wants to know the steps just pm

If you want to do all of your internet stuff anonymously then TOR, on it's own, really isn't enough. Downloading and then opening certain file-types (mainly pdf, doc) can make using TOR completely redundant.

They won't accept returns for obvious reasons (not wanting to give away their address!) but if an order doesn't reach you; they'll give either a partial or full refund. At the end of the day it's just like any other online marketplace, sellers need to keep customers happy & provide a good product in order to make money.

hahaha was thinking the same thing as well:D...its a typical daily heil outrage on one side; and a bloody good explanation of how to access silk road on another.
am surprised theyve only just caught onto SR,light weights.

there is some interesting/ funny stuff on the deep web, cant remember the name of him but there is an amurrican guy who steals to order for his site customers from wallmart, he only steals from his local wallmart because of the easy camera blind spots aparently.
another guy designs completely perfect coupon forgeries for customers;typical america though theyre coupon crazy.

anonymous have a forum on there to,dont know if they still use it.

there are A LOT of online stores like silk road, though there are a lot of fake duplicate sites set up, possibly some set up by the coppers to catch people out who knows.
