Not really anywhere for me to go.

Vodafone: Insanely overpriced and puny data allowances unless I go with prepay, and I don't really want to do that. 1GB of 4G is insanity.
Meteor: Had constant problems with push data which they blamed on both of my phones, even though a competitor's SIM worked fine in them.

The MVNOs have the problem of being reliant on the parent too, as we saw yesterday with Tesco, 48 and Lyca all going down at the same time as O2. It's like a RAID 0 disk array, a failure of any one will bring the whole thing down.

I'm amazed that the O2/3 merger was given the green light as I can certainly see a lack of competition here.

I haven't been affected by any of the outages recently. I'm quite happy to stay where I am.

    Definitely - changed already.

Changed to e-Mobile 4G post-pay for myself and the OH. Incredible value - €24 per month each for unlimited voice/text and 5GB of data in bundle, and it gives proper 4G speeds compared to O2 network which only had limited 3G.

Changed the kids from 48 to Meteor Prepay 3G - €10 per month for unlimited voice, 7.5GB and 400 free texts on MyMeteor Android app. They don't use texts much now - so this is fine. They are delighted with 7.5GB of data compared to the 1GB they had on 48.

I'm really impressed with eMobile 4G so far, and have saved a fortune by changing - sorry I didn't do it years ago.

I had problems with Meteor's coverage when I was with them previously so I'd have to go get a PAYG sim and do some testing first. Vodafone's prices and meagre data allowances are utterly shocking. I guess they've long since scared away anyone who uses a reasonable amount of data.
