That sounds like a well rehearsed fantasy ixoy :D

    9 + 4 + 2 = 15 * 50 = 750 + 7 = 757

    aaaarrrrrghhh... 728

    (8*2)*50=800

    (25-7)*4=72

    800-72=728

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,722 ✭✭✭Thorbar

    7 * 25 = 175
    175 + 8 = 183
    183 * 4 = 732

That's as close as I can get but I'm still trying.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,722 ✭✭✭Thorbar

    I can get 1 closer

    7 + 8 = 15
    15 * 50 = 750
    25 - 4 = 21
    750 - 21 = 729

Shouldn't 5 of the numbers be between 1 - 9? and only one other be (10/25/50/75/100)?

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,426 ✭✭✭Roar

not sure, but i think you can have more than one "large" number, or alternatively you can have six "small" ones

Don't think so. I'm sure I've seen a set up like this before. Ten is definitely a 'small number' - it comes up with the big ones all the time. The bigger ones are 25, 50, 75 and 100.

On this one anyway, I got 729, but two different ways to Thorbar (only seem to be able to find one now, but there's at least a third...)

    4 * 8 = 32
    25 - 2 = 23 *
    ---
    736 - 7 = 729

And I couldn't even use the 50 in the end! Gah!

    I officially hate this puzzle.

This one has been annoying me ! :)

    8 * 25 = 200

    200 - 50 = 150

    150 - 4 = 146

    7-2 = 5

    146 * 5 = 730 !

NOOOOOOOOO! I thought I'd explored all the divisible options the other night.
How did I miss that? Congratulations!

    Carol? Is that you?

Well done I'd spent ages trying to figure that one out. Any chance you'd post up the next one?

Tenshot you're suppose to have 5 of the numbers from between 1-9 and then another that's from (10/25/50/75/100) read the first post.

Had to use mod to solve this one don't know if that's allowed but anyway.

    100 % 6 = 4

    75 + 25 = 100

    100 + 4 = 104

    104 * 7 = 728

    728 - 2 = 726

His selection is fine according to the countdown show rules. The show lets you pick any six numbers from all the cards, which contain one each of 25/50/75/100 and 2 each of 1-10. You don't know which cards you're going to get, but you know that the large numbers are on the top line, the next two lines contain one each of 1-10 and the next two lines contain one each of 1-10.

    Nope.

Thought this might be a laugh. If it works I'll sticky it.

Basically its just like the Countdown numbers game, randomly pick 6 (one is either 10, 25, 75 or 100 and the other five are from 1-9)numbers and a final number and post them. The rest of the posters have to try arrive at the total by addition/subtraction/multiplication/division with those numbers.

I know its allowed in the show but I was going by this.

    1*2*3*4*5 = 120 and you've used 3 twice

Also according to the first post on this thread you're suppose to use 5 numbers from between 1 and 9 and then another one that's either 10,25,50,75 or 100.

Solving the one put up by midget lord seeing as iceman's solution was wrong.

    4 * 5 = 20
    20 * 2 = 40
    40 * 6 = 240
    240 - 3 = 237
