Might not be your cup of tea but UFC 168 is on tommorow (technically Sunday). Biggest fight of the year and an all round good fight card. Certainly worth a watch even for neutral observers.

Rang in there a wee while ago and got the €9.99 a month offer for the next 3 months.

    Happy enough with that. :)

Yes as long as it's a HD Box you have.

I stupidly didn't sign up for this deal, but I am actually interested in getting Setanta/BT for the next few months - interested in rugby. I don't want to pay 19.99 per month though....wondering will they do a deal.

The deal is still on the website I guess you could sign up for the weekend and cancel on Monday, Try and get the 9.99 then.

Rang to cancel there and they offered me nothing, was told it would be cancelled 1 month from your next bill due date

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,343 ✭✭✭buyer95

Called to cancel just there, got through straight away, no waiting. Said I wanted to cancel, gave my sky id number, and straight out she offered me 12.99 for 2 months, I asked would she do it for a tenner and she then offered 9.99 for 3 months. I accepted. Happy out with that as the main use I have for BT is the live NBA games, of which they show over 5 a week, and no other channel in the UK/Ireland show the NBA. Having premier league games is great too. It might be different for others, but at 30 cent a day, its well worth it for me.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,053 ✭✭✭batistuta9

Just on the soccer BT will have first pick of matches on the run up to end of the league. So they will be picking the matches that will decide the league ahead of Sky. Two PL matches a week between BT and Setanta works ok for me.

Also the UFC and NBA make it worth 9.99 for me. But it is each to their own to find the best value for themselves.

that's not really true, this right now is the best time for BT, up until the end of feburary.
from march onwards there's 11 weeks/sets of fixtures left. sky have 8 first picks and BT only 3.

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=87940238&postcount=13
the digital spy link in that post gives more info/discussion on it

BT have used there quota of l'pool games & have only one remaining arsenal game (this includes up until the end of feb. when the TV fixtures are done until), the quotas will allow sky to pass (i think this means their first pick that w'kend) big games that BT can't take anyway, so sky are going to end the season better with the bigger games

BT also have FA Cup games but i think ITV takes the first pick of these, arsenal-tottenham in round 3 and on DS it mentions they've first pick at the QF stage too

Well I just rang and was told minimum sign up is two months @19.99 per month. Not going to bother - my own fault for not signing up for the €1 deal for December. :(

    i don't understand you

you ring up looking for a deal, get told you've to pay 20 a month because you're a new customer

but if you sign up online (for a euro) today then ring to cancel, they'll more than likely offer you the deal you were looking for in the first place

do you know you can still sign up for the euro?

This is a cracking deal for €1 - i wouldnt normally be in a position to have any of the sports channels so I'm really enjoying this!

Just have to remember to cancel it now :D:D

Bloody hell, I called yesterday as I was anticipating a queue on Monday and there's nothing more I want to see; it still took 28.5 minutes to get the damn thing cancelled and no offers were made!

Mine and most others on here went immediately.

Same as that, shouldn't the cancelled sub run out on the 31st, the €1 was for the month, cancelled a movie package with Sky before and it didn't go until the end of the month as I had paid/been charged for the month.

Not really bothered, just thought it was funny.

It was mentioned on an earlier post here that cancellation would be immediate, presume they are hoping some people wouldn't bother after having it for a month :)

Why don't setanta have their own forum seeing as that they have an official rep here?

Not to drag this off topic but Setanta, like any business, can have an official rep account here so as to help deal with queries that may arise such as there have been in this thread. That costs money but it costs a hell of a lot more to get a full dedicated "Talk to" forum.
