The 26 extreme crew did another brilliant job on the organisation. The atmosphere at the finish was great.

The racing at the front end of the field was interesting. Don Travers had an unbelievable run to get himself into 2nd place (for the 3rd year in a row) a week after running 2:38 in the Newry marathon. Barry Murray raced hard all day, and was only a minute behind Don at the end... that's incredibly tight over that distance. At the halfway point there were 5 runners well in contention.

A good comeback race for me... happy out!
Well done on your win, how much harder time wise do you reckon it was over a drier course?

In my own case I would guess around 20-30 minutes. Not an exact science though!

Wuhoo! What an amazing experience, first Ultra distance event, arrived in with a few new buddies in 10:13:02. Ended up using Merrell trail gloves. A bit sore when a sharp stone is drivin up into the arch (not too much protection) but other than that they were A1 for grip and general trail running feel. They'd still be my shoe of choice. After a lot of running in zero drop shoe of course.

Congrats to Enduro, I'm can't understand how its possible to run those times. Back to the drawing board with the training myself to try take off a couple of hours! ;-)

Thanks 26xtreme, great atmosphere and organisation, potatoes were a welcome sight at the aid stations!
