EN14214 certified biodiesel B100

07-04-2008 6:17pm#1I'm driving a Citroen C4 1.6Hdi (2005). I know that the car can drive on B30 Biodiesel but I've been told of a place in Athboy that sells EN14214 certified biodiesel. Now I think this stuff is B100 (I stand to be corrected) would this be safe to put in my car?
Your thoughts would be appreciated.0

Straight Vegetable Oil (SVO, a.k.a. Pure Plant Oil, PPO) has all sorts of different physical properties to petro-diesel, and this is the stuff that requires conversion kits. Biodiesel is essentially just SVO that's been treated to remove or reduce most of those differences. Thus biodiesel that meets EN14214 should run in any diesel engine without problem.
Good luck with it. I'd love to partake, but the market in the US for diesels still isn't mature enough (though maybe in the next 5 years or so they'll see some sense), and diesel at the moment costs about 25% more than unleaded
