Hdip student for 2012-2013..what's the best option for a place to live??

Hi everyone,

just received my offer to study the Hdip in social policy for next year in UCD, very happy! I now just have to figure out where to live for the year..

My preference would be to live on campus since iv never lived in Dublin before and I would be close to the college. However since I'm just finishing my undergrad degree now this month, I wont really be considering myself to be a party-mad college student coming into UCD (kinda feel iv got most of that out of my system)

Does anyone have any tips on whether there are some places on campus that are specifically aimed at postgrad/masters students who don't wanna be stuck with all 1st/ 2nd years? (not that i have anything against them, i just think for next year it might be best to live with people in the position as me!)

Also, any tips on which residence places are nice and those which are not really nice/comfortable to live in?? Or would finding a place off campus in Dublin be a better/cheaper option for the year instead of living on campus?

Any help will be appreciated!!

2012 H.Dip in Social Policy

Hi, I've also been offered the H.Dip in Social Policy in UCD. I'm planning on commuting from Laois everyday by bus, accomodation on UCD campus is very expensive but staying in Dublin on a bus route to UCD would be less so. I'm wondering if anyone who completed the course recently can tell me if there were any evening lectures on this course (after 5pm)? I'm trying to figure out how draining the commute would be.

Many thanks,

Majella

Hi there,

Hope all is well! I have also been excepted into the HDip for Social Policy the course this year. I'm also worried that I will be living with first years . . . I know what you mean! I'm from Galway and looking for a place to stay. I was wondering if you have found a place?

Chat soon,
Katie
