If they kept it updated every 6 months I'd be happy enough paying a fiver each time. It's not like the old games where the fast cars stayed fast all year. :pac:

    Bout frickin time.
Can't understand what took this so long.

As a poster above says, by the time this is out, the season is nearly over.
I hope they give us a season or two of downloadable updates.
Otherwise it'll be out of date as soon as it comes out.
Much the same scenario as the first one that came out when the PS3 was launched.

To be fair though, most F1 games have been released close to the end of their respective seasons. It would be nice to have some DLC update for next season, all it would need is updated car liveries and rules but I can't see it happening.

It's been far too long since I've owned an F1 game, so much so that the last one I got was the one that came out with the PS3 in 2007, so that would be the 2006 season. I still play it though, and it still plays very well but it is very outdated.

The problem with this is the cost of the F1 license. There is a huge cost involved in getting the 2010 license and if they want to update it with DLC they will need the rights to 2011 etc. Thats why we havent seen official F1 cars in Gran Turismo yet. The greed of Bernie Ecclestone. Such a shame.

This Friday, finally, reviews are all very promising,

  • Registered Users Posts: 282 ✭✭macpac26

The reviews so far are excellent for an F1 game a lot of 9/10s. Ordered my Wheelstand Pro for my Logitech DFGT, so cant wait to try it out. The weather is amazing!

Will the PS3 version look any better than the 360 version?

In general, multi-format games look better on the 360.
    This game, I don't know.

This is looking good and getting good scores, may have invest in a wheel for this and GT5.

Not sure weather to get a wheel or not,i usually like using the controller for it really.

What wheels are good for PS3?

I have the Logitech Driving Force GT and its epic! Custom made for Gran Turismo 5 you can adjust car settings mid race. The force feedback is fantastic. I think Argos have it at 99euro.

If you have the dosh most people recommend the Logitech G25 or the newer G27. Out of my budget unfortunately.

If your thinking of getting a wheel make sure you have a solid place to clamp the wheel down otherwise you wont get the maximum out of it.

I remember doing a few of those a good few years back. No idea what game exactly but possibly F1 on the PS1. Good times. Times though when I had a sh1t load more spare hours to myself. Not so sure now.

Can you buy a stand for it?

Ya I know what you mean, especially when you can do 7 seasons!

Check out the wheelstand pro. Kind of pricey but definitly looks good and seems to be a favourite among racing game enthusiasts.
