Topaz in Thomondgate was 1.50 for diesel and 1.54 for petrol today. Cheaper than Emo, Chawkes or Tesco (and everything in between) from what I could see.

I think he maybe talking about the delivery tanker truck has Great Gas on the side of it. EMO might be just using the local Great Gas delivery company.

That's really good! Is it too good to be true?

I've used GG before and never had an issue, haven't used that particular filling station though so cannot comment.

I've only had one tank of petrol in the last two years that was way off in terms of mileage*. Anything else was within the variation I would expect from my variation in usage. I swear this "tis guzzlin pertol" , "pure water in that place, a tenner got me nowhere, orange light was on again the next day" thing comes from people flitting around town throwing scraps of petrol in here and there. Tesco, great gas, texaco, that place at o'rourkes cross, topaz, maxol, applegreen, all much of a muchness for me.

*I can't even remember where I got that tank from :o

**can anyone tell me did I use variation correctly there, or should I have used "variance" instead???

Not Limerick but I was in Ennis today and the diesel was 148.9 - great value! and it was a Topaz station, compare that with the Hospital Topaz

  • Registered Users Posts: 55 ✭✭Johnny31

That Topaz has always cheap diesel.. disgrace when 1 garage can be 5/10c per litre more expensive

I know that this is the cheapest petrol thread but I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that petrol station beside the Regional and petrol was E167.9 - crazy but sure look if you charge it people will pay it.

Saw on Live95fm last night that the owner (previous owner?) of EMO garage on the Dublin Rd picked up a jail term for selling laundered fuel, caught out by accident.

I think it was around 2010 when he was found out but the case must have only been heard recently.
