Wolf Children - because a film this wonderful, warm, accessible and generally brilliant does not deserve to be ghettoised.
Like Father, Like Son - I sensed a bit of a Kore-eda backlash when it came to this film, but it's as rich and intelligent as anything he's done. Was lucky to get a week in the IFI.
Spring Breakers - a film that deserved more intelligent discourse and analysis than it seemed to receive from viewers and critics alike.

Behind the Candelabra - A fantastic film released as a TV movie in the US because they are ignoramuses.

Thought The Great Gatsby was better than what people gave it credit for, not saying it was a great film, but certainly much better than a lot of the reviews. Watched it a second time recently and I loved it.

2 Guns - A better than your average shoot em up with some good chemistry between leading men Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington.

The Wolverine - Again, a film that surprised me in its lively action with a better plot than a lot of run of the mill comic book adaptations.

Side Effects - One of the last Steven Soderbergh films and what a fine one. There's plenty of twists and turns and all involved deliver fine performances (yes, even Jude Law).
