What is that all about? So you receive a call from a company where you are/were customer, from an unknown phone number . They then proceed to quote data protection legislation and customer protection and ask you to verify personal data before proceeding with the call. Is it only when the number is blocked that it seems to piss people off?

I get called by Vodafone the odd time, and technically its an unsolicited call. However the number is visible. And over the last 2 years their calls have been ways to reduce my home phone/broadband plan based on usage.

I agree if the number is blocked, but I would only ensure to have my guard up, I wouldn't ignore/hang up outright.
