I Lived in Carraigh abhainn this year as a first year not knowing anyone, yah its abit small. but you get to become close to people and make groups of friends with people in the estate, there's also a security guard thats there some nights wednesday n thursdays nights usually he's lovely though not pure strict. but Id also recommend southern gardens alot of first years live there too.

Don't stay in Riverbank, it's an over expensive ****hole.
Find yourself a room on this website: http://www.daft.ie/searchsharing.daf...e_per_room%5D= |

Guys,
Before you go searching you should read the following: http://www.daft.ie/report/ It has been prepared by the Students Union of Ireland and gives you guidelines to help you in your search as well as indicative rents for all college cities and towns. It contains good information and is written to protect you particularly if you are a first year as you can be bullied into a rash and wrong decision by unscrupulous landlords and/or agents. |

I'm starting 4th year in September & I've lived in College Green since 1st year (same house right through!) Never had a problem with the area. Freshers week & Rag week get a little crazy as the estate is 80% students with only 20% families. Theres still a few houses being advertised but not on Daft.ie. A lot of the houses just have a sign in the window saying "Rooms available". Its a typical student estate so it can get a little noisy but it's an all round pretty great place to live

You'll settle in slowly to your course after the first few days, starting to know the people on your course, finding out where stuff is etc. Freshers Week should start fairly soon after the year starts. That is a pretty fun week, you'll love the college after that
