its gone low again, the rain that fell wasnt enough to keep the river at a decent level, fell quite quicly, aparently plenty of fish being caught.

try blackwater lodge website and trout and salmon forum for daily updates,i hope to get down for a day or two

the fly was doing well on the upper beats,,,,lower river worms and shrimp seem to do very well,,,i persevere with the fly, maybe spin if the waters a bit dirty.

    *
Heavy rain on the 5/6th. September produced a small flood on the lower
river taking the gauge up from ~0.05 to 0.47m.*

*This immediately produced a dramatic improvement in the fishing.

    *

*In the last 4 days following the flood, we have had 75 fish for only 64
rod days. The most successful method was fly.

September 7: Dirty water. 13 fish caught. 12 on spinner & 1 on fly.
September 8: 24 fish to 9lb. caught - including 13 all on fly for 3
rods on one beat - all were released.
    September 9: 23 fish to 12½lb. caught - 15 on fly.
    September 10: 15 fish to 10.3lb. caught - 8 on fly.

    _Prospects_
There is little rain forecast, so the river should stay in good fly order
