+1 from me anyway.
Which will still work under the tactical shooter heading.

Looking for info on a 188+ page thread is next to impossible in fairness. I wonder how many times people have requested information already posted numerously on that thread. People just don't use the search function generally speaking.

The T.S. forum is perfectly suited to Dayz. A separate forum is unnecessary. The real problem is letting people know that the T.S. forum is the place to go for DayZ threads. That, I would suggest is a matter for the mods - they could just move DayZ threads to T.S. The reason the DayZ thread is 188 pages and counting is that people don't think T.S. gets any traffic, so they are reluctant to post there.

When the game goes stand alone it wouldn't fit in the Tactical Shooter category though.
Right now its a mod for a tactical shooter game, but once its stand alone it will no longer have anything to do with a tactical shooter and will be all about survival.
That and the fact that most the people who play the game just run around with lee enfields and shoot everyone without thinking about it twice, nothing tactical about that

I don't get it. Whether its standalone or not, it's still a tactical shooter.

Its not specifically a shooter game though when its standalone. Its a zombie survival game with guns in it.

Will want to organise events in the near future.
Separate threads would help.

Righty, from discussion the consensus is....

not yet.

the game is not yet standalone and the mod has not yet been shown to have long term appeal, yes its popular now but will it last.

so, this isnt a rejection of the idea but rather a promise to re-visit the idea on or around the 11th January 2013. If DayZ is still as popular then or more popular, we will look at either modifying tactical shooters to make it more accommodating or creating a sub-forum. I'm going to close this thread but not mark it as rejected. If someone wants to start a new forum request in january and link to this one please feel free as I have absolutely no doubt that I will need the reminder
