Back in from seeing the specialist and happy bunny am I!!!

The tabs I went on after Xmas do contribute to weight gain, kinda had that figured out myself when the best part of a stone crept on and I was no slim Jim to start with either!
I put my sugar levels and weight loss since WW in a spreadsheet for him just so he could see how one had impact on the other.

So he has decided with my new eating regime and the walking there won't be any insulin shots for me for the foreseeable future anyway, and he's taken me off the nasty weight gaining tabs - yah!! Mind you I've nearly lost that extra weight now with WW so the rest of it definitely cannot be blamed on the tabs!

Thanks for the support guys! x

That's fantastic news, what a great incentive to keeep going:p

Thanks The only thing is I'm CRAP at drinking water. Even with squash, i cannot drink unless I feel thirsty, and its a struggle to get it into me.
Thanks for letting memoan tho, its so frustrating when you think your doing the right things but not getting the results. I'll really work on the water!

I would have said the same a few weeks ago, but I think it's habit now. I find just having my litre sports bottle beside me in work is a great help. Rather than walk down to the kitchen for my millionth cup of tea, I'll just sip at the water all day. Some days could have half of it gone on the drive to work alone.

Sometimes, just saying it out loud helps too! Fingers crossed for a big loss next week ;)

Huge PLUS One for the water!
I take a 2 litre bottle to work with me and sip away at it all day and then maybe have a glass or 2 at home in the evening. After doing this for a couple of weeks I really find I miss it now if i don't have it.

Hi all, i had my wi this morning and i too was up 2 pounds.. i'm gutted.. had my parents in law at the weekend as we were heading to a communion on sunday. I tracked all week, drove everyone to the pub and drank water fri and sat, had a boiled egg when they had fries.. i was saving my points for the dinner on sunday, and a few glasses of wine. I chose turkey and ham as all others had loads of sauce, and got gravy on the side..i did have baileys cheescake, 2 glasses of wine, and about 6 vodkas and cranberry, mixed with water the odd time to make it so further. Surely that wasn't enough to add 2 pounds!!!
What i do know is that i should have my totm, but due to a hysterectomy last year (when a routine smear revealed cervical cancer) i have obviously no period.. I have ovaries though and the doctors said i will feel all the effects like normal so is this why i wonder??? am i retaining water too, i dont know.. I feel like i'm yo yo..ing, i ve lost every week for the last 4 and now this, i nearly cried at the scales too.. sorry for the rant, i feel deflated now... and like everyone else i'm sipping water as best i can, not great at it but getting a 500ml bottle and 2 pints down me..

    Hi there
For the past 2 weeks, I've been weighing and tracking as usual, but decided to add some walking into the mix.
I've been walking 5k in 40 mins, 5 times a week for 2 weeks. The first week I only lost a half pound, and this week I was up 1.5lbs.
I actually cried at WI yesterday I was so distraught!
I haven't counted any extra points for exercise as I think people tend to grossly over esimate what they earn and at the end of the day, its a walk, not power lifting :)
My leader reassures me that i'll "suddenly" see a reduction, but I'm feeling really low.
Any suggestions? I havta add, I was always skeptical of people who claimed to gain weight when they started exercising, as the whole premise of weight loss seems to be "move more, eat less...."
Sorry for the negativity, just needed to let it out :(

Oh my god i totaly no the feeling I lost over 2 stone without exercise so i said it about time i got fit aswell have been exercising now three weeks... 1st WI was UP 1 lb and last week was only down 1lb:(.. I was not happy so have WI this evening will let u no if anything changes.. My leader says this is the time when u will be really tested as to how strong ur will power is and its so important to keep at it cause it will show on the scales it will just take time... Im not going to obsess over the scales i just going to focuson clothes getting loser ect... Think about how u feel right now conpaired to how u felt when u had the extra weight...:D

I feel the same. I drink a litre at work aday, if not a bit more but I tend to just leave it at weekends though, but my body is now so used to drinking water, I actually feel dehydrated at weekends now. Only thing I must say is constant toilet breaks!!

WI at lunch time today and I STS again!! :( That's 2 weeks wasted at staying the same. I am so annoyed. I walked over 12km over the weekend and although I ate all my weeklies and dailies, I really think I deserved a loss. It's not TOTM or even near it. I just don't understand, 2 weeks ago, I ate all my dailies, weeklies AND activity points and I lost 1.5lb. Just totally disheartened. I thought the plan stated that "Daily Points + Weekly Points + Activity Points = 1 - 2 lb loss per week :(

Firstly can I just say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who's posted here today! I'm not a regular poster but I really appreciate that so many of you took the time to reply. I'm feeling much better having read your comments.
To those who are in the same boat as me, as awful as it is, its nice to know I'm not the only one.
If we keep putting in the effort, we will see the results.
Devastated as I was yesterday, I came home and walked it off. I'm topping up on water here now, and I'm heading out for today's walk soon. Fingers crossed its the water thats the missing link.
Best of luck to everyone in the week ahead, and again, thanks a million for the reassurances and support.
    x

The speed you walk at is pretty good so I'm just wondering if it is high enough intensity to give you that edge you are looking for. I know personally that I naturally walk super fast so I dont think I would gain anything from going walking so I do other things like swimming, spin, circuit classes (they kill you) and running.

I doubt that you would be putting on any muscle yet, I think it takes a while for it happen, especially if your not taking a whole load of testosterone, which I'm guessing your not :p

    Good luck.

Going to try and be extra good this week, as I will only be able to walk a few days (like 3 days) because I am going up to Sligo (to my Dads) straight after work tomorrow and then moving apartment Saturday so will be packing Friday.

Can't wait to just move in, get a good food shop in and just relax and get back to focusing on myself a bit more. I think the reason the last few weeks haven't been great for me as I have been so stressed with our case and work and moving among other things, and while I still am stressed about those things, I have calmed down a bit and once moved in, can relax and get back to me :)

Monife and Mother Teresa I had a similar problem about a month ago when I was doing loads of walking and swimming but I wasn't losing. I was just STS or even gaining and losing that same 1 lb. I took 2 weeks off from exercise because of college and I found that I lost weight. I think your body needs time to catch up with the scales. So don't be disheartened it will show on the scales eventually :)
