Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    How long before other governments start blocking Chinese vendors from public procurement.

    Makes you wonder if we're going to enter into an era of paranoia. Would love to know how many Irish institutions are running the cheapest tendered equipment? :P

    Ye we all know that the sh1ty cheap hardware from china is that way for a reason at this stage , prodcut is sh1te but they gain access in tandem.

    The US govt. has long had a similar policy, a big selling point for many of the companies listed in the article (when pitching to US companies) is that approval level. I used to work at an ISP over there and was involved in a number of audits of hardware sourcing driven by the govt., basically to see how far potential penetration of hardware from coldy hostile govt.s was in the sector.
