That must have been a tricky job, all the petrol engined P11 and P11-144's had timing chains

Indeed, the car might seem good on paper but such a blatant fraudulent claim or lie if you will does not instill confidence in the seller.

Sold now anyway so its all a little academic at this stage but just googled the number in the ad and the results returned don't inspire too much confidence either.

2.5 V6, NCT and TAX until 2014! That's private tax too!

    Basically free motoring and it's a V6. Supernomics....:D

Hmm, that one would have you thinking alright. To get down to the nitty gritty its unlikely that you'd have it in your name in the month of April but you should comfortably have it in your name during the month of May. That means you should be able to claim June 13 to Feb 2014 all inclusive (9 months) tax back. By my reckoning thats approx €970 on the basis that the tax was €1,294 on it for the year and also assuming that you are rebated pro rata which I'm unsure about.

That leaves you with a very cheap car to do whatever the hell you like with. I'm sure you'd sell it for a couple of hundred but if not I'm sure you might flog the likes of the wheels and the leather seats easily enough and then scrap it for maybe up to €150.... could be right handy money for somebody living in or around Co Clare direction

Not quite. You only get the tax back in this case if you have a certificate that the car was scrapped.

Ah ok didn't know that. In that case its not quite so tempting....

It is indeed tempting! Buy it, fuel it and insure it until next march, lash it through the NCT and if it passes you might get €600 back. If not scrap it and it's cheap motoring either way. You also get the pleasure of a V6 too...;)

Probably a PSV special but still... Pretty leather. 1950. NCT will go for two years on this thing at next renewal so it could be a nice Executive stop gap for 2 years, sell on for 1k and you're doing well?

    http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/4856939

    V6 and all that jazz.

Don't come much more boring. (and I make no apologies for posting another one..!!)
But for an asking of €895 its a bloody good run about for 12 months for someone.
    Auto.
    Low Miles 81k.
    Test until Feb 2014
    6 months tax

    What's a PSV?

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,205 ✭✭✭cruizer101

PSV = Public Service Vehicle, generally here refering to taxi's

The reason this is important is that they pay lower tax so although a car may have the tax paid on it that os assuming its being used as a PSV when you buy it you will then have to pay tax on it as a private vehicle.

84000 km on an 04 plate sounds fishy for a 2.5 surely (or am i just suspicious)

You obviously did not read the ad. It states clearly :):

"No NCT but will pass no problem."

    To add to that:
I will consider a swap for a uk reg car, all offers welcome.

Not the usual heap of scrap without an NCT would put it through myself but leaving the country next week.

    Leaving for England...?

The suspension is so poor that even when stopped, the car is nearly falling over :p

Bargain float boat though, good find! :)

The photo location is funny too, directly blocking a T junction.

Did it just break down there or what :P

    I'll add to that: -

    Seller comment
This Car Is The Most Amazing Looking Car On The Road

In my opinion its an nice looking car but certainly not the most amazing looking car on the road. I find such comments to be downright annoying and pointless and how good looking a car is is subjective in the first place... They add noise to the ad which is absolutely unnecessary.

C5 with lots of test that needs nothing apparently. Probably massive milage but looks clean. Not sure what's going on with the interior though, are they seat covers
