As a person who has gone out of his mind to get some sort of reasonable sustainable 3g connection for the last year +

I need a fixed broadband service

The 4G speeds in the US (and elsewhere) sound fantastic. I wonder how much of that speed is due to 4G adoption still being quite low, and how much those speeds will come down as more and more 4G devices pop up.

Speed on 4G is mostly dependent on the bandwidth available for the service, the more bandwidth available the higher the speed. Comreg on the other hand don't think that is important and have limited the bandwidth so no fantastic speeds for Irish consumers, that and the fact that Comreg have mandated a 70% population coverage (which is mainly the east coast and a few selected towns/cities) means you probably won't get 4G coverage unless you are "lucky" enough to live in a large town
