seems harsh. Would it not be better to award lets say 8 points for a correct prediction meaning a total of 24 for correct P1 P2 & P3 but alowing you to score points if you get two correct but your third car isn't in the top three?

Seems it, but the points are fair if you manage to get it right. Imagine walking into a bookies with a trio-all ways and saying, hey I got at least two right. What will you give me?!
