Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Quad biking trail???

    Hi all,
    does anyone know of any suitable places to bring a quad for a ride?
    Trail, track, quarry etc?

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Located near ballyjamesduff, but willing to travel.

    Never heard of a specific place. Tons of quads down where I live but they use the public roads and random fields.

    This place, http://www.odd.ie/ They have quad looking things. They might let you use your own.

    Looks interesting but I doubt if the boys will let you on with your own quad for insurance reasons.
    When you think about it it does make some sense. Their own gear is restricted, they have all the safety gear, give instruction, they most likely can kill the power remotely if there is a problem.
    Plus if you are on their track their own gear isn't and they aren't making money.
    I have a farm quad and a go kart. I have the same problem with the kart,the 2 local tracks say no for insurance reasons. Their karts do 50 mph, mine should do 120 mph.

    Well insurance may or may not be an issue. Sure the OP's quad might only do 5kph :-)

    Good point there but but I'd assume it will do more , it would be no craic driving at that pace. My quad is a 420 Honda farm quad and it will do 55mph and at that its restricted. Dangerous on the roads at that speed let alone in a field. The biggest things I find are the back axel is permanently locked and the tyres are at 3.6 psi so if you brake hard they will go fairly flat.
