Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    I have a 97 Opel Corsa when the engine starts and it heats up it sounds like I have my foot on the accelerator. anyone have any idea how to fix it?

    Need more info than that.
    Is it actually revving or just sounds like it?
    At what stage and what conditions after starting does it do this?
    Progressively worse or there suddenly at some point?

    look for and fix the air hissing noise you will hear when your listening to the engine.

    Be aware of hot and rotating parts when listening up close.

    Google vacuum leak

    when the engine heats up not long after starting it. it is revving. it is always there and doesnt get any worse just there and stays there

    What county is the car in?

    1.2 litre and it's in ireland

    OP, if you tell us where you are located we can suggest a mechanic.
    Or if you are DIY-minded you can start by cleaning the throttle body.
