    Poor Arthur, major breakdown imminent.

They're all bound for an early grave imo, there's no cool head at the top, nobody has the diplomacy skills needed to succeed long term in the underworld. Gang wars are bad for business.

Polly has a cool head she'll oust the lot of 'em. I can't take to this ditsy loved up Grace at all, after all she was a cold blooded spy sent in by the ulster red hand mob. We'll just have to wait and see how it pans out.

I can't remember exactly what was written on it but it was like an "in memoriam" card, a death threat in other words.

The casting of Grace was fairly terrible to be honest. She's miles behind in talent compared to some of the other actors in the show.

Every time I hear her say, "Tommy,Tommy, I love you Tommy", I die a little inside. She sounds exactly like every idiot in Ireland who try to imitate a member of the traveling community.

The love triangles every season are ridiculous at this stage. It seems you can't have a story nowadays without a fecking love story. Just gives us the plot for fecks sake!

This has been my least favorite episode/season so far. I'm just not invested in any of the story lines like in the previous 2 seasons. I'm hoping this season is young enough to improve. I have a suspicion that the shows best stories came from Tommy struggling to be Top dog and Tommy the international gun runner for Winston Churchill/Lord of the Manor will never grip me the same way.

I think they have done far too much time jumping.

The stuff with the Russian's is extremely confusing and then the economic league are thrown in just to confuse things even more.

I thought Grace being shot was telegraphed a long way out even bearing on being foreshadowed.
Her saying she trusted Tommy and laying it on thick didn't bode well for her.
I think she was a poorly developed character anyway (she's not the same character from season one with ideals now she's just the kept wife throwing parties). I think it would be no loss to the show if she was dead. I don't think we'll really miss the scenes with Tommy rushing home to see her.

to be honest i'm not enjoying it nearly as much as season 1, season 2 was just ok, i think they have stepped it up too much, the whole idea around the shelbys was that they were a daring try your luck sort, now they are a little bit of everything

Delighted grace is gone. She got very annoying

  • Arthur is one of my favourite characters at the moment, by far.

Was a good episode, bit like the Godfather on the separation of teams to try to enable going clean.

Arthur is one of my favourite characters at the moment, by far.

He was always my favourite character, he's clearly suffering from PTSD & is on edge constantly... seeing him trying to change his character is fascinating television.

    Love this show.

Yes, Tommy arranged it through his contacts at the Liverpool port.

Probably the best episode of the season so far. Hopefully, we don't have to see much more of this Russian daughter. Another ****e actress. Not a patch on Helen McCrory!

The Shelbys disapproved of the Italian gang boss's (old man) son dating one of their sisters. They fire bombed the Italian's restaurant. Both sides had a sit down during which John Shelby insulted the old Italian and threatened his son. The Italians responded by bringing over a hitman from Naples to kill John at the City Council Ball. Grace was caught in the crossfire.

The Russian aristocrats were displaced after the Russian Civil War and are now plotting a counter revolution against the Bolsheviks. This is quietly being supported and aided by individuals in Westminster.

The Priest is the middleman between the Russians and supporting members of the British establishment, although as of last night it appears he is playing both sides.

    ^^^^^^^^^^

    thanks for that,

it very complicated in fairness, maybe too much for your average viewer??

btw - do any of you have to switch on the subtitles, cause i can't make head nor tail of those brummie accents, esp Arthur

  • TBH I'm sad that they seem to be underutilizing Paddy Considine. He can be such a tense screen presence. Dead Man's Shoes can attest to this.
