Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    Cape Clear is well worth a visit. Stunning views, great craic and a cupla focail if you want to.

    Went with a gang after a hen party to buy an ice cream in Ballyvourney. We'd been chatting in Irish as we were driving through and I went up and ordered in my ninety nine, "Ba mhaith liom uachtar reoite, le seaclaid, ma se do thoil e.

    Shop assistant was Polish.

    The main Irish speaking areas cover the villages of Ballingeary, Ballyvourney and Coolea. Coolea ia a nice area for walking; it's quite high up in the mountains. Gougane Barra is quite close to these areas.

    As mentioned, Cape Clear also has an Irish-speaking area and is a very pleasant island to visit.

    I think there may have been a thread similar to this a few months ago if you want to go back a page or two.
