Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

origin of a text message

    Hi, just a quick question

    Is it possible to tell what country a text message was sent from?

    ie: if someone (irish person) sends me a text message from another country (outside of ireland) can I view details about the message that indicate what country it was sent from

    or indeed vice versa...can someone in a foreign country tell easily that a text message has come from ireland?

    appreciate any help

    I don't think you can, as it will be issued by the user's network's message centre.

    Agreed, there is no way to tell if someone using an irish number sent you a message whilst abroad
