(takes about 15 seconds in a proper Italian cafe at the counter)

As a commited espresso drinker (no Italians ever commented on mine, though), I object to that. Proper extraction takes +/- 25s, besides all the preparation :P

But at the end of lunch hour(s) or in time for the afternoon rush the guy behind the counter gains mild powers of (highly specific) precognition.

The mistake here is comparison. It is ugly completely in its own right. Kill it.

It's got nice wheels though :pac:

Bang on! 18-22grams in, 25-30 seconds out, 30 -32 grams in weight. Italian coffee can be shot out in 14gram measurements though and can be under extracted to achieve the desired notes. you generally want to extract to the point you see the creme coming out as the coffee beans releases its co2 but not over the point you begin to see shaky legs. that's gonna taste bitter and horrible. It's sad but i know all these things :(

The worst thing about coffee in Ireland is the amount of cafe's that havent got a clue. Walk into insomnia or any other big chain, they never purge the group head, never clean the portafilter properly, they've never heard of dialing in (they simpy grind and tamp whatever fits into the basket), the milk jugs are never washed in between uses, they don't clean the steam wand and they assume that value for money means a gigantic cup and over extracted shot. They don't ever even know where the beans are from, they just tell you the brand haha

sorry for the rant i really am :(

    You're among kin here brother.

If I do order a Cappucino it's for me, not my pet tiger.

As a poor person with just a couple of Moka pots (from IKEA no less - the wife murdered my bialetti) I just generally watch for the cream and pour before it evaporates.

Two horrible frames make one fixie...

    Easy target I guess.

I watched a Youtube video of that Fliz thing...basically a really sh!t skateboard.

    This looks familiar (see attachment).

I wonder which was designed first?

It's a benevolent conspiracy to make you feel superior.

They look like someone's got a bit of old pipe from the backyard and put a couple of wheels on.

Isn't there a variety of those bikes that has an extra bit of pipe for a built-in chain to rattle around in? I've seen one around Dublin. Unlovely.

Well said sir. They were on my ugly radar for while until I forgot about them.

Nothing worse than ugliness masquerading as beauty. Uggh.

Am hunting a local horror...someone who parks around here bought a TCX 2 and put one of those sit up and beg hemorrhoid cushion style stubby seats on it along with a bunch of duct tape to hide the decals and some hideous platform pedals.

It's no oil painting. Doesn't have a face like a plasterer's radio either.
