Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    My ambition, right from being a kid, was to be a reporter and to travel.
    I've now been a reporter for more than 15 years and I still love every single day of it.
    Plenty of travel too.
    I had a choice when I was 22 odd to try for journalism or take an easier route and go off and be an interpreter, altough that's obviously a tough gig. I'm delighted with the choice I made - I simply can't imagine doing anything else.
