I cannot post the link, but I came across this article, what do people think? Hits the nail on the head if you ask me.

    Rule of Law in Ireland

On Sunday I took a drive along the coast in Dublin and passed through the beautiful area of Portmarnock. It was a perfect sunny day with families out enjoying themselves on the beach. The only thing that struck me as unusual was the presence of three Garda vehicles including the Dog Unit van at the beach. Unfortunately after continued trouble between gangs of youths the Garda have now to maintain a presence on certain Dublin beaches. This is not a criticism of the Gardai who actually did a great job down there yesterday talking to the kids and keeping order but it is a criticism of how our society has been turned on its head by the politically correct brigade.

He drove through a beautiful area on a nice day and saw Gardaí doing a good job, but still that was his conclusion? Well he was just determined to have that rant, wasn't he?

Yesterday, the weather was good and I saw nothing untoward happening. Sickened so I am. How did we let it come to this?

Just kids acting the bollocks as kids do.Happens every day in less salubrious areas but you don't hear about it in the media, and the Gardai aren't instructed to make their presence felt in these areas either.

OP edited, a post on the Rule of Law in Ireland and posting the entire article breaching copyright is not a good mix.

Please don't post full articles and please provide sources/links to the full story.

    Thanks

Proactive is better than reactive in certain situations.

He makes a good point in that there is a section of society that take complete advantage of every system they can, be it free legal aid, social welfare, repeat offenders not being punished according to their lengthy record, to name a few.

Of course the AH apologists will accuse me of being a snob but it wont stop all of the above being true.

    Oh, goody, another one.

The attitude of the writer and the whole article can be summed up by this one line. Why he bothered to mention guards, Portmarnock or anything else is beyond me.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

There you have it: the actions of thugs on Irish beaches is the responsibility of the PC brigade.

The thugs themselves are not to be held responsible in any way.

The Battle of Baldoyle.just beside portmarnock. Some areas never change :-)

On May 14, 1942, things came to a head during a serious stand-off at Baldoyle racecourse between Animal Gangs from the northside and southside. The reason for the battle is believed to have been a turf war between rival bookmakers.

The brawl, in which knives and bayonets were allegedly used, along with a sword, a home-made dagger, the fork of a bicycle and a tyre iron, left 20 people injured and resulted in 11 prosecutions.

It also made the front pages of the newspapers, who dubbed it the Battle of Baldoyle.

Ah, that would be the link that I missed. But then, who is the PC brigade? Is it a bunch of dyslexics downloading illegal pornography...?

Well I was in Spain last year and there is always a Police presence on or about the Beach.
It kind of stands to reason if there is nobody around, then there is no policing needs, if you have hundreds gathered then you probably do.

What has being politically correct got to do with the Gardai preventing large scale brawls between gangs of teenagers?

What are you on about exactly? I don't get it.

Not sure it's the PC brigade per se so much as the "ah sure it's only kids acting the bollox" attitude that's the problem

I seriously doubt the OP is ever coming back to clarify, but I don;t think this is all that accurate. "It's only kids acting the bollox" is aimed more at small children being annoying than teenagers having mass fights.
