Harvey Normans have the original Wenger bags, they look a bit different to the ones Tesco are selling. The ones in HN have the Victorinox/Swiss Army crest on the back. The backpack in HN has loads of thingies inside and a price tag of €50 or so...

The €70 one's are the one's we get in work. Best backpack I've EVER had, how the rep on the Tesco ones are €50 I'll never know

Would someone who has purchased the cabin bag mind weighing it?

    A few questions,

Are these Wenger bags the real deal or cheaper imitation versions?

How long is the promotion running for.

Thanks IrishHomer, for that. Anything under 3kgs is good for the likes of Ryanair and Aer Lingus.

The cabin bag is 2.6kg and the large bag is 3.4kg.

I bought the large one today, and got the coupons for that purchase:) So I had enough to get the cabin one to:)

I was going to buy one of the cabin size bags but after looking at the quality of them I changed my mind quite quickly.

I think the best one there is the Travel Bag with wheels, not sure if its worth €30 + 10 coupons. Poor value IMO

Quality of the Tesco Wenger set is, IMO not good.

On a different note, I saw one of these in TK Maxx Swords for around ~ €40 earlier today. Was very tempted but had already bought some outdoor gear there.

Now that backpack WAS well put together.

Go to tesco and be niece to the cashier:) I got 15 coupons for purchase worth 60 euro :D

I picked up the rucksack - don't have any great interest in any of the rest.

I'm fairly happy with it - there's a padded section immediately next to your back that would hold a laptop - easily 15" - and there's a spot for an iPad or a netbook on the "outside" but that wouldn't have so much protection. There's the usual 2 stringy sections for water bottles etc - didn't seem to be a specific section for a phone (either mars bar or smartphone) nor were there any knack hooks or winders for ipod/earphones.

I'm happy with the quality and appearance. It's not a specifically geeky-oriented laptop carrier though, and it's not the one I'd choose if I wanted to carry a MacAir on a motorbike or something! (note: I don't have either.....)

I'll be using it for ipad/netbook/laptop, meter and rg45 cables and stuff, camera and spare batteries and a rainjacket - my ManBag basically!

Re vouchers - best bet is to ask the person monitoring the self-checkouts - I'd say they have a little more time and flexibility to deal with you than the harassed women on the checkouts, and they have a pile of books of the vouchers in a drawer.

I've used the quick-checkouts for two of these, and still have my original vouchers. Staff didn't ask for them.

Picked up a messenger bag today, very nice quality.
It says it will accept 17" laptop but my 16" one would not fit :(

Such a shame as it looked perfect.

Harsh, sorry to hear that. I got that bag too and the 17" capacity in the description is being really optimistic on their part.

Will they be accepted in Tesco Ireland as they look slightly different?

Looks like you should really be getting some endorsement fees from Tesco! (even if they are they are being a little less than honest, since what you were talking about is not quite the same):
