Very good so far. Very interesting observations on the tragedy of Tom Simpson. Just wondering is anyone else having problems with occasional digital dropout during the program. I noticed it at the two separate locations I was trying to watch it?

He doesn't realise that it is ok to ride 2 abreast..

For a (former professional) cyclist he is an impatient arsehole towards cyclists on Alpe d'Heuz.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,613 ✭✭✭evilivor

    hahaha kimmages driving :D:D:D

The images of him as a cyclist-hating motorist made it all worth while!

OT and a risky subject (begging to be shot down) but I am intrigued. What are they doing? EPO, steriods, hormones, inhalers, xenon ? I wonder do they view it similar to a form of embrocation or serious edgy stuff.

I was joking, really, but it probably is happening in some shape or form.

    I enjoyed it

poor froome, it was a fantastic win but the joy has been taken out of it, with nagging doubts in my mind that its just too good to be true.

I can see why people dislike him, but what a great achievement, he is one of the main reasons Armstrong lost his titles, the Simpson piece was very moving, and his achievements should be recognised but he should walk away now.

You'd be surprised the amount of dopes in A4, let alone professionals!

    fixed that for ya

    Ahhh, that is boring :)

You could almost imagine it starting with someone who has a cold or infection taking some antibiotics that their friend has left over from an unfinished course and escalating to some amphetamines because they were out late the night before and need something to get them started .... to who knows what :)

You better hope beastly is in bed sleeping and you get your answers before he wakes up.

Actually a really nicely made documentary. I completely agree with his reaction to the 2013 tour. I wanted to believe it, I thought Froome seemed like a really genuinely nice guy but I just couldn't. Just this huge f**king annoying question mark hanging over everything.

Yup, as a cyclist one would have expected more empathy and respect for other cyclists but equally he wouldn't be alone amongst serious cyclists in their arrogance and complete lack of respect towards other road users. Certainly that scene with him in his big camper van barging up through the stage route and the cyclists didn't portray a very pleasant side of Paul Kimmage but perhaps a warts and all version is what is best. He's never held himself up to be a loveable angel I suppose.

There've been plenty of Nice Guys who've doped & won the tour.

It would be disingenuous to pretend that Lance being a monumental Pr1ck wasn't a factor in him being the highest profile doper who has been exposed & stripped of the titles he stole from others.

Professional cyclists, especially Lance Armstrong, saying over and over they were clean, and then found to be lying has devalued everyone and everything in cycling. Cycling proved there is no integrity in cycling.

The best moment for me was that little smile when Riblon crossed the line on Alpe D'huez. In that second I think he forgot all the bull he's been through and was in pure heaven remembering why he loved the sport

I got the impression he spent the next five minutes searching for needle marks or plasters on Riblon's arms while he was hugging the soigneur.
