Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.
Thanks all.

I've never used one, but I read about them a while ago and it's probably worth trying one out on the cheap before deciding whether it's worth investing a substantial amount in them. As with everything else my understanding is that you get what you pay for.

One option would be to build your own to try it out. See how you get on with that and then decide if spending extra cash on it is worthwhile.

I once used a halogen living room lamp angled behind a sliding glass door with the page I was working on taped to the glass. The image being used was taped to the reverse side of the glass. If you're ever in Australia or the Southwest of the USA you can do the same trick with the window and the Sun.
