2 car trains MAY call at Portarlington from time to time. 2600 or 2800 class DMU's covering reliefs or failures ex Limerick or Galway / Westport services. It has happened several times before.

26/8s on a heuston service in this day and age? doubt it myself. plenty of ICRS for heuston services surely?

shut down alcohol action ireland now! end MUP today!

fair enough, i just thought the times it happened were a long long time back, and just asked is all, i won't bother you again, sorry

Apologies if I came across a bit harsh. It wasn't intended as such.

You do see it from time to time, especially with Limerick - Limerick Jct. services being extended at short notice. Either due to late or full services ex Cork. Also at times if the ICR has failed in the West of Ireland, the 2800 off the WRC has been robbed. Of course not the comfort of an ICR but a train is better than no train. A 2600 even once worked from Killarney to Heuston after a failure!

Good weather keeping 215 clear for more than 5 minutes. Was it just painted or was it given an overhaul to?

    Morning all,

this week Railtours Ireland are operating the "Emerald Isle Express" tour, chartering a train from the Railway Preservation Society of Ireland with GM 084 at the helm. On Monday 29 September, the train operated empty over the mothballed South Wexford Line (Rosslare Strand - Waterford via Wellingtonbridge).

Here's a link to my photo's from the ITG's Diesel Gala at Downpatrick today. A great day was had despite a little mishap at the start of proceedings. Credit to the ITG & D&CDR volunteers who worked hard at making a contingency plan work.

These things happen at days out like that,it's always going to be difficult to get the perfect shot unless you're willing to go off the beaten track, which I'm not. The videos were taken on my phone and were spur of the moment, not planned(much like the whole day!).

    Probably
I have to live with that crap (the lookalike thing) constantly now and it does my head in. :(

Not one person told me to get out of the way of anything, I would have happily moved if I was.
