Been thinking long and hard about my golf lately, its either lessons or give up for me. Am getting terribly fed up with the inconsistencies in my game.

    SM5 wedges in 52deg and 58deg.
Hybrid to replace my 3 iron.
Hybrid or 5 wood to fill the gap between 3 iron and 3 wood.
    Laser rangefinder.
    New shoes and clothes.
    Another putter.

Would love the Titleist 915 Driver but the 913 will be ok for another year or 2.

Going to get a proper putter fitting and lesson in the Golf lab in Dublin although I think my putter is fine especially when I practice during the week on my mat!!

    Anybody try 915 ?

    Mad money.

trip to Open in St Andrews for me & my son
trip to play Rosses Point, Murvagh & Nairn & Portnoo for me & my son
trip to play Machrihanish & Machrihanish Dunes with Scottish friend.

Bag sorted so just a Swingbyte or Skypro to help with the winter practice

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,113 ✭✭✭galwaylad14

I got fitted for irons last year and it made a big difference I must say. Would recommend it if you're getting new irons (or any new club for that matter)

I also bought an R11 driver, titleist 913 3 wood and scotty putter last year (all second hand, but the value in the second hand market is just unbelievable) last year so there really is nothing I need now.

I suppose I wouldn't mind a range finder but I'm not that pushed about it, maybe if I win a few vouchers or something.

I think I now have a decent set of clubs that are well suited to me so there's no logical reason to change really so I think if I have money to spend on golf next year it'll be mainly on lessons, my ball striking is very good right now but a lesson on the short game wouldn't go astray. My bunker play is dreadful (as in I virtually have no idea where the ball will end up when I'm in a bunker) and I'm targetting getting to 3 next year so really need to get this sorted.

I'll probably be selling my Swingbyte, only used once. I'll be putting it up on adverts.

Like the look of the Mizuno 850 Pro's but not sure on the RSI's, I'd feel they're a bit gimmicky even though it reportedly works

Could be different when you hold them, I know they're MC and CB's are really nice from this year and I didn't like the look of them at first.
