If dancing is your thing and you are looking for an avenue to release all those artistic passions then Dublin City Council might be your release.
Dublin City Council’s Sport & Recreation, Community Development and Arts sections in association with CoisCéim Broadreach once again partnered to deliver a magical dance programme to the older adults of Dublin City from Feb-May 2014 as part of the annual Bealtaine festival.
This years’ theme was Love, Song & Dance and drop-in classes were offered in 5 locations of Dublin City over 8 weeks. This provided the opportunity for large numbers of older adults to take part in and experience a creative form of physical activity. Participants from the drop in classes were then given the opportunity to progress to more intensive choreographed classes.
The project finale saw a group of Older Adults, many new to dance, take part in a performance showcase in the Irish Museum of Modern Art in front of an estimated crowd of 250-300 people during the Bealtaine festival.
