Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    Based on the spec provided, it looks like the Argos one is missing the SSD.

    Basically it looks like the PC World laptop has the OS on the SSD which allows the laptop to boot up a hell of a lot quicker.

    Also the difference between the CPU is quite minimal.

    Its an SSHD, not a real SSD, performance benefits will be minimal. Dont bother, buy the cheaper unit + a real SSD from amazon and you'll end up with a far faster machine for similar money.

    If I buy the cheaper unit from Argos, then a real SSD from Amazon, how will it be faster as its not built in to laptop?

    If buying separately you'll probably only be able to have one and not both. An SSD would be limited on space compared to a 1TB HDD.

    An SSHD is a nice balance between the both.
