Yeah that guy who says the current Golf has the best interior mustn't get out much... Actually when I told a VW salesman (the heir to the Michael Moore throne) that the MkV interior was a backward step from the MkIV he got up and walked away! But it is! Rich kids aren't accustomed to people disagreeing with them I guess:p

I remember sitting into the Mk V Golf when it was only out a few weeks and I was amazed at the lower quality plastics compared with the previous one, especially the steering wheel. Looked pure cheap. The Mk 4 Golf had a poor dash shape, but at least the plastics were among the better in that class.

That asian corolla's dash would genuinely make me puke.I understand the concept of putting fake wood in a cheapish car but atleast make an attempt to make it look half real anyway!!!!!!!!

I love it. My '85 Civic was similar.
Class the way the centre console where the radio is doesn't come down to the floor. Great for legroom.

Ah extra leg room is that what that was for i thought it was so something in the passanger footwell could easily roll across under the pedals and thus lead to a nice high speed crash into a wall!

High speed crash. It's a Micra. Checkmate!

I know someone who drove an '89 Micra up until a few years ago. Reliable enough old banger but you could hear it coming a mile away. It sounded like a tractor.

@Max_damage: Has your Micra been the subject of a peel the door back attack?

Yes it has, four times during its entire lifetime. The bastards never managed to steal it thank god. The big chain on the steering wheel and the homemade immoblisier work a treat.

There is a 'bump' between the passenger & driver footwell. It's there for the exhaust pipe, gear linkages, etc. that travel underneath.

Opens like a tin of sardines! Well done for keeping them from stealing it though. The person I know had theirs stolen from a church car park on Christmas Eve. I assume they waited until they heard confirmation on RTE1 that the jolly fella had actually left the North pole so it was too late to go changing the naughty list.

They got it back though with no damage. When they eventually sold the car about a year ago, it had been lying up for 2 or 3 years. A jump start and it was away.
