i'm going to be looking for accommodation on my own this year i think, i'm looking for some tips. i'm thinking of Riverwalk, but how do you know who you'l be moving in with or is it just completely random? i've spent a year in Riverwalk before and it was grand, clean, tidy etc. but i moved in with people i knew.

not that i'm overly fussy, but i wouldn't like to live in one of those flat out, house party 5 nights a week kind of places because i don't want to live in a kip, at 24 i think i'm a little over that but i wouldn't be against having friends over and i understand it's college so the odd session is to be expected etc. other than that all i need is a parking space.

when is the leaving cert C.A.O. out? would i be safe enough waiting another fortnight or so before i look to get somewhere, just i'm heading on holidays tomorrow for 12 days

i do architecture in The Granary, so close to a bus route would be useful, i do drive but getting the bus twice daily would be cheaper than parking on The Quays.

How about looking at meadow court in pole berry? It's a nice place for flats, the leaving cert is out the 12th, CAO results out the 17th and first years registerion is on the third and fourth of September, you could look at living at Templars, and get the bus in to the queys, real easy to get and now they are using leap cards on the buses

moved into Riverwalk in the end. ended up in an apartment on my own, lonely as hell. felling a bit stuck to be honest. not that i'd consider myself awkward or a loner, but i'm from a class of just 5 other students, 2 are mature students and the others live locally so I had nobody to move in with, though i'd get lumped into an apartment with a few other randomers and it would be grand.

the evenings are pretty long there on your own :P is there much you can do socially in WIT without going on the drink, to put in an evening?

If you like your football there's a 5-a-side league which should start in November. Put your name down and it's random teams of six. People of all levels play.

There's a load of societies/social clubs which all are doing sign ups next week I believe, since it's Fresher's Week (open to correction). Players of all levels are accepted for all sports so there's no excuse really. There's also video game societies etc if you'd prefer that.

Use the gym in the college. It's dirt cheap, it's decent and you'll make friends there, especially if you want to do the classes there.
