So with the huge increase in immigration to Australia and their economy doing well with resources now being tapped into on their west coast are they becoming this centuries USA??, or are they still relatively to small and countries such as China, India and Brazil will outdo them very soon.

Is Australia the next America? 4 votes

Australia's economy isn't doing all that well really. 4 of its biggest banks were downgraded just a few days ago, and the property bubble there is about to burst

No. For a country its size, Australia has a very small population of about 22 million, and most of its land is fairly uninhabitable.

You won't be the next America until you win a war in spectacular style. eg build a big bomb and try it out on Indonesia.

See my above post. Also No. Not in the next 50 years like people are led to believe. That is a myth.

I don't think i've ever seen anything with "made in austrailia" on it! Surely they must make something?

(I sometimes imagine the Minogue sisters have it tattooed on their asses, but in reality they probably don't:mad:)

When you know who they considered rejects back in the day, that's no necessarily an insult.... :D

Wow, imagine where the Italians could be if they worked hard, paid tax and were led by a president with a low sex drive.

I was out there last year and it reminded me of Ireland before the recession, crazy wages and property prices, just seemed completely unsustainable to me.
