Hello! If you're someone who has experienced emigration/lived between two places I need you for my project, PLEASE mail me! I'll give you free cookies. Oh and please share if you know anyone!

I'm posting here as this is a performance based project so having natural performers involved would be a huge plus.

Experience must be genuine though.

Mail me at: katieg.oneill@gmail.com if interested.
Many thanks!

Katie.

Hi there! :)

I'm a writer, and I am looking for actors to read through my script, which I plan on developing into a profitshare production.

I am ideally looking for actors who would be interested in being actively involved in a new play and having input at all stages of its development, and would like to experience the other creative sides of theatre besides acting.

For the purposes of the reading I need 3 women to read for major parts, and 2 more women and 3 men who will read a variety of small parts (many of which are intended as radio clippings). 2 of the major parts should have a playing age of early thirties, the other major part is an older, professional woman.

I have been given some free rehearsal sessions in Dublin city centre at the following times:

Friday 9 March: 5-9pm
Monday 12 March: 5-9pm
Thursday 15 March: 5-9pm

If you would like to get involved, or simply would like some more info, PM me on here or send an email to untildead.play@gmail.com, indicating what times during any of these sessions you would be available for (I am only asking for about 2-3 hours committment at this stage - don't get freaked out by the 12 hour sessions! :) )

Thanks.

Hey all
I'm working on a low budget independent film called Beat Girl at the moment about a girl who becomes a DJ and we are shooting club scenes in the Purty Kitchen in Temple Bar on Thursday.

We are looking for 100 extras to film some club scenes with 2fm DJ Jenny Greene during the day - call time would be 1pm. If anyone's interested, sign up at production@beactivemedia.com or you can PM me.

When the dialogue scenes are finished, the doors will open to the public at 9pm and Jenny and John Gibbons will put on a free gig for all Beat Girl punters. Extras from the daytime shoot will be featured heavily in the night shoot, having the best spots closest to the DJs.

Here's the event link: http://www.facebook.com/events/340223636026350/

Cheers and hope to see you there!

Shane Burke’s dark new comedy “The Horse Trading Diaries” will debut this August in The New Theatre, Temple Bar for a two-week run. (August 27th- September 8th) .

St. Patrick's week , 1965, Limerick city. A hotel owned by famed Irish rebel Michael Hurley is visited by Ernesto 'Che' Guevara, a world-famous revolutionary. For Frank, the hotel porter, things have never been so grim. The guests get stranger by the day, hot water bottles are exploding, and plots are being hatched....

The script is a light farce, punctuated with some rather dark moments. The characters are best played as if they do not know they are in a farce and are reacting genuinely to the situations that unfold. All performers will require exceptional comic timing and dramatic range.

Auditions from Monday the 9th of July.
Rehearsals to begin early July in a brand new studio space in the city centre. Profit share.

Character Breakdowns:
Frank (Lead): The hotel Porter. Obsessed with keeping up appearances, and not rocking the boat. Hates change.
Una (Lead): An MI6 SOE agent masquerading as the translator hired to communicate with Che. Has a brutal and sad past.. Of spanish descent.
Tim (Lead): The Villain. Another MI6 SOE agent and diabolical figure. Overseeing M16’s mission. Also takes on a number of other disguises.
Michael (Supporting): The hotel owner. Former Irish rebel. Holds many secrets.
Jeremiah (Supporting): A naïve young man who seeks out and embraces change.
Che (Supporting): Revolutionary leader, at a crossroads, torn between the desire for a simple life and the need for adventure and revolution.

Casting Notice

All Hell Lay Beneath

Sugarglass Theatre is now casting for its next production All Hell Lay Beneath as part of the Absolut Dublin Fringe Festival 2012. The performance will take place at night on the 11th, 12th, 13th September and will be an immersive party inspired by the novel Steppenwolf by Herman Hesse. Sugarglass are looking for versatile actors that are interested in being involved in the process of creating a piece of theatre in a non-theatrical setting. The production will be developed during August and early September and will require a wide range of a performers with many different skills all united by a shared interest in the concepts found within the novel and how they can be translated into performance. This promises to be an exciting and innovative project that will be both challenging and rewarding for perfromers. Come along to an audition and get involved in a party and performance that examines the role of the individual in a society more and more defined by the movement of the crowd.

Directed by Marc Atkinson
Produced by Rob Kearns and Sugarglass Theatre
Inspired by Steppenwolf by Herman Hesse

Auditions will be held on 23rd and 24th July, and auditionees must be available for a possible callback on the 25th July.

Those wishing to audition must be available for rehearsal during 6th - 10th August and the week prior to the show with flexible availability between those dates. Please note on your application if there is a minor problem with any of the above dates as some flexibility may be possible.

To apply for an audition please send a professional CV, headshot, full contact details (mobile number, Facebook page, and Twitter handle where applicable) and details of your availability on the above dates to casting@sugarglasstheatre.com

The deadline to apply for an audition is Friday 20th July. You will receive an email confirming a receipt of your application and those invited to audition will be informed by email as soon as possible after application.

No specific preparation is required for the audition. Ideally, however, those auditioning would have read the novel.

Rates of Pay: Any profits made from this work will be divided among the cast and crew. However, given the scale of the production, it is anticipated that no profit will be made. As such, this is likely to be an unpaid performance. There is, however, the possibility of future iterations of the performance which would be paid.

Sugarglass Theatre is a new production company based in Dublin and made up of four young professional theatre-makers. Sugarglass is not bound by a ‘style’ or artistic discipline rather by a shared ideal that the work they produce should always offer a reflection (all be it shattered) of our contemporary society.

Hello Boards.ie community!

We are a student group with Filmbase and we are shooting a short film called "Temptation" in Dublin on October 5-6, 2012. The film is a comic in tone with the story of a young lad, Seamus, who fights with his own conscience (through the voices of his parents!) after he finds a lost phone in a public park. We are currently looking to cast 2 characters:

Seamus

About 18 - 22 years old, friendly looking. Not as cool as he thinks he is, however, more attractive than he realises. He hasn’t yet figured out who he is, who he wants to be and what he wants to do in his life. Raised between conflicting messages and moral codes which he has received from his parents. He is largely attracted to his father’s ways which seem cunning, straight-forward and resourceful. But deep inside he’s an empathetic person and struggles with ideas and actions that may ultimately hurt others.

Annie

About 18 - 22 years old, pretty, extrovert, bubbly, open to people and rather trustful. On one hand sensitive and empathetic, but on the other hand an assertive person who knows how to care about herself and take initiative when needed. On her phone she stories some files and photos or great sentimental value to her so when she realises that she has lost the phone it is a devastating experience to her as the subjective value of the lost files is incomparably higher than the value of the phone itself. When Seamus returns her the phone intact she’s suddenly over-excited with joy, but then quickly becomes herself again – a sympathetic, optimistic person with well-balanced personality – contrary to Seamus.

This is a no budget Filmbase project however this will be a great opportunity for those looking to enhance their portfolio and meet great people on the set. We will absolutely make sure that you are treated very well, get credited and will receive a DVD copy of the movie once it is finished. Additionally, the insurance is in place for the shoot and we will provide with the meal and transport from and to the location as well as the invitation to the screening, which will take place at Filmbase early November.

Casting evenings are Wednesday, September 12th and Wednesday, September 19th at Filmbase studio. Please send your expressions of interest to - and we will provide you with a copy of the script + other helpful information.

Thank you for considering us!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR EVERYONE WHO REPLIED - we have received a great number of responses and filled our audition times to max. All the very best

~E

A Dublin production company needs an actor to accompany a non-actor in an audition situation. It will take aprox 1/2 hour. The audition is primarily set up for the non actor but the actor will have a chance to showcase their talent and will be considered for the as yet uncast role.

Hi,

I'm looking for 14 volunteer male extras (ages 18 - 45) for a pub scene in a short film on Wed the 6th of Feb. It is based in Finglas and is starting at 10.30am.

I am also looking for 2 volunteer male extras (ages 17 - 20) for the pub scene and and a scene in an industrial estate on Wed the 6th of Feb. Call time will be at 7am.

Interested parties would need to bring a white t-shirt with no logos or stripes on it. If they don't have a white t-shirt you would need an off white or light grey t-shirt. Again with no stripes or logos on it. Also a dark top, not black, that one might wear for a night out as one of the pub scenes will be as a Friday night.
The 2 extras (ages 17 - 20) will also need to bring a dark coat or jacket.

This is voluntary, it will not be paid and unfortunately lunch will not be provided. There will be time allocated for you to go to the shops or you could bring in your own lunch and there will be a place for you to eat it there.
The 2 extras (ages 17 - 20) will have lunch provided for them and they will also get a credit in the film.

14 extras:
The call time is at 10.30am on Wednesday the 6th of Feb at the Shamrock Lodge in Finglas. It's on the Seamus Ennis Road. There is parking in the area though some of it is pay and display. The link below contains directions from Parnell St so as to put the pub in some context.

Performers wanted for POP:

15523950935371243741412.jpg

13th - 18th of May, Players Theatre.

What Is It?

Essentially, It's a live gameshow disguised as a theatre performance. The aim of the game is to out-embarrass each other by asking truths and challenging dares. Don't want to answer? Too uncomfortable to continue? Pop a paper bag over your head, but you're out for that round. It's as simple as that.

We made the show as a reaction to confessional documentary theatre, but it is also a commentary on colloseum style audience reactions to reality television. In the last quarter of the piece we open the direction of the show to the audience, allowing them to influence the tone and content of the finale. But of course, there is a twist.

Who Are We?

We are a theatre collective, though our back catalogue contains club nights in the Bernard Shaw and the Twisted Pepper, pervasive games at Body & Soul and Electric Picnic. We make interactive, audience participatory theatre that is game based at it's core. And messy.

What Next?

Interested? Email us at comeassoonasyouhear@gmail.com for more information! Oh, the information we shall provide!

(And here are some reviews):

"A spirited and funny show turning the confessional theatre genre on its head." - Irish Times

"Come As Soon As You Hear have been quietly developing a great reputation as the authors of really intelligent, irreverent performance" – Róise Goan, Dubin Fringe.

"Watson's chipper tone and loose form carry a charm that's hard not to warm to" - Irish Theatre Magazine

"One of the biggest & best shows of the Fringe" - Spin 103.8

"Fifty Shades of Fringe. You will be disgusted, enthralled and maybe turned on; one thing is for sure though you will not be bored at this show
