    1. Ammonia: Pink slime — a mechanically separated meat product that is treated with ammonia to kill bacteria — is used as a low-cost ground beef filler. Though a handful of fast-food establishments ditched the ingredient after recent controversy, it’s still lurking in many ground meat products, including those used by restaurant

It's how they treat your meat, the process of making it appetising

The title of the thread is Food Porn, depends on what you call porm.

that is only the first of ten ingriedients that halp make it.... Edible?

I'll go with the untreated meat

    2. Fat: Trans fat, which is naturally found in meat, is known to raise cholesterol levels and has been linked to heart disease; however, the FDA currently allows a food to be labeled trans fat-free if it has less than half a gram. While most fast-food chains get under this .5 limit, their burgers still contain the unhealthy fat — and restaurant varieties can have up to 2.5 grams. Plus, some food chains pack almost 50 grams of fat into each burger. That’s well over the healthy range, which is between 18 to 31 grams per day, depending on your calorie intake.

I think you need to build a bridge. This isn't about what's healthy, it's about a picture of tasty looking food and those burgers looks delish. If you don't agree fine but I don't think you need to take it so seriously.

Can I make a suggestion, check my posts in this thread and pick out the ones with rare or mediem rare "Cooked" meat. The crocodile is raw and ready to be cooked to persional preference.
Now, if you are saying my opinion should not be expressed because most people like burgers..?????

    Really????

The use of the word delicious and burger are, to me, oxymoron,

If you are saying you would prefer a burger to an Anerdeen Angue, medioum rare piece of steak.

You and I are on different planets

Is that a fillet steak? Boring..... I'd take a braised beef cheek over that 9 times out of 10

If you don't appreciate a good cheeseburger then meh, your loss.

How can you not defer to this guy's opinion, man? His contributions to this thread have been nothing but rock solid:

You'd want to check out the gruel and water they serve in that eatery, it's divine.

It is still only an opinion. We've all got those.

Well I'd be around equally as pleased being served workhouse fare in an expensive restaurant as I would be if I were given a piece of fruit.

I suppose, as far as concocting dishes from the leftover contents of a junior infant's lunchbox sitting in a bowl of frozen water go, it was a fairly good attempt.

    ROFL..

It's so obvious you don't even know what the dish is or where it was served or.... How good it was.

But, if you are satisfied with the hand outs and the food coupons, good for you. Someone got to use them. Do you get a choice of the tinned stuff or is it first come first served???

The tinned fruit was all gone last time I went to use my stamps. Luckily, it seems to have been put to good use, getting served up along with a garden weed at the base of an old, piss-streaked metal urinal in a council estate pub.

That looks amazing. I love desserts.

    ROFLMAO

OOHH come on, you can do better than that... let the language flow, get rid of all the envy and meaness.

I ;ove the way you post images totally unaware of the flavour and taste but.... bearing in mind you're on the food coupons, ... never mind...

Remember what the teacher said last week, you must try harder.

Give it a rest. Ye are ruining the viewing pleasure with nonsensical bickering.

Someone who thinks a cold apple is food porn just dissed burgers, man. You can't let something like that slide.

Mod note - This is the CVPL forum therefore I am not refereeing an argument about food where people can't behave themselves. Anymore uncivil language aimed at other posters will be carded

What surprised me, Ireland has no three star Michelin restuarants, only a single two star and 8 one star.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 15,116 ✭✭✭✭RasTa

Who cares about Michelin stars, I've eaten in a few and it's more about the service than the food.
