kayaking in dun laoghaire

    hi all,

    i'm looking to get back into kayaking and after moving to dublin was looking for a club in the dun laoghaire area.

    does anyone know of any?

    It was a few years ago I lived there and there was a small club that went out from the forty foot. I think it was wednesday evenings they met up, sorry I can't be more helpful!

    Does your kayak have a spray deck or is it a sit on kayak?

    Do you want to sea or river kayak?

    The list of canoe clubs around can be found here: http://www.canoe.ie/en-us/information/clubcontactlist.aspx in and around Dun Laoghaire are East Coast Sea Kayaking (http://www.ecskc.eu/) and Sandycove Kayak Club (http://www.sandycovekayakclub.com/)

    There are plenty of roof rack clubs that will go wherever the water is, Wicklow is a favourite if there's plenty of rain.

    If you're interested in doing sea kayaking you could try http://www.deepblueseakayaking.com/ who are active in the vicinity and do courses, gear hire, etc.

    i'd ideally be looking for river kayaking with a spray deck, but i wouldn't mind give sea kayaking as try, but i'd also need a club that can store my boat, its too big for the apartment
