Cruncho's

A tasty snack often discussed here and sadly missed. But it appears good news is on the way,Largo Foods have stated that they hope to have them back in the market this year.

A post on the Bring Back Cruncho's Facebook page contains the following statement:

B.B.C UPDATE (FOR THOSE THAT MISSED IT FIRST TIME AROUND)!!!
FROM LARGO FOODS
.."The update is that we have the packaging done and ready to go, but we are still working on the product. We’re hopeful that we will have it out this year.

This was from March(forgot to post about it at the time, only remembered now!) so hopefully things are moving on quickly. I loved them and hope they reappear soon.

I've never seen any pics of the packaging on the internet. They seem to have vanished into oblivion.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. IIRC they were made by King which is now part of the Largo group so hopefully the original recipe is still in their archives somewhere.

All the other snack foods(snacks,Johnnie onion rings etc)were made by a Place called Eurosnax, and they all taste completely different since Largo have been making them.

There were 2 types of them anyway. The early ones were much harder. These were very similar to some scampi fries, but for some reason scampi flavour ones costed a fortune compared to crunchos.

I head some rumour/tale about some kid cracking his teeth or something and that was on explanation for the change, they made them much softer and they were nowhere near as nice.
