When the sun came out today, I took a few pics with my phone on the long run, at Garristown, North Dublin and (briefly) Co. Meath.

Looking down to the start of the run which ascends here (the dot of a car in the mid-photo is the start). When runners run back up from turning point they'll descend the same way to get back on their bikes to the finish.

Looking over towards Ballinacor. WAR cycle traversed roads around this.

Looking down from Croaghanmoira to the turning point on run. Runners will turn around and run back up.

Today was one of those wonderful autumnal running days. All taken in and around Annacurra, overlooking the surrounding countryside.

@Slogger - what a fantastic place to have at your disposal... It's making me want to go looking for somewhere nicer than the traffic-dodgin' spot I currently use! (when I force meself out every now and then, that is)

Was helping on this race yesterday. Photos are fab, particularly this set:

It's shots like that SJ that make me want to sticky this thread and I think it should be compulsory for all runners to carry a camera.

But only if you have the the type of views that SJ has on his doorstep. The urban jungle doesn't make nice photos.

Out for a walk with the kids in Glendalough, less than 30mins from the house, must get up there for a run soon.

True enough but it's only 5km from my house to the the hellfire club, I think a panoramic pic is a must now.

That's about 30 minutes, still enough daylight if you get going now.

I was looking down on SJ's misty views this morning, having walked up with the kids. His photo's have inspired me, I'm charging the camera and will get out and snap the evening view.

As promised, pics from tonight's SJ-inspired ascent of Hillbrook.

View from top. Lug is the far cloud-covered peak.

NO wonder you guys are such good runners. I thought I had been running on some hills today but tsuh!....they arent hills like you have there. You are spoiled for hill running for training.
I had a nice sea view where I ran today. Must borrow a camera next time I go , in case it looks nice again:D

    Keep them coming

What you had were the links to the page of the image, not the image itself. I think I decoded which ones you were trying to link to.

    Thanks robinph.

I used the "insert image" button, so am not sure where I went wrong.

Perhaps I needed to convert the format to html or something.

    Thanks for the decoding job.

Picassa doesn't give the BBCode that you'd need for here directly, but this method "should" work.

Open the page for the image you want to post.
Click the "Link to this photo" link to the right of the image.
Select the code in the box labeled "Embed Image" and copy it ( CTRL-C ) .
    Open this page: http://www.seabreezecomputers.com/html2bbcode/
Paste ( CTRL-V )the code into the big text box.
    Press the "select all button".
    Press the convert button.
Copy the code from the big text box.
Paste that code into the message box on boards.ie

    That should work.

Hey Woddle - great photos, are you running up there in this weather?

Love that route (on the bike) up from Rathfarnham (10km of torture until the Military Road levels out), but gave up running on Stocking Lane a couple of years ago, after one too many hops into the ditch...
