Honda ANF 125 Innova Electrical Problems

    Hi,

Just recently my Honda 125 Innova is experiencing some problems with the electrics on it, because however the dash lights do not illuminate and the speedo arm is flickering from left to right as well as the indicator lights going 20 times to the normal flickering pace.

Have stripped the motorcycle down today, checked connections and seem to be ok, measured the battery terminals with multimeter and reading out at least 10.2volts but im guessing it ought to be something like 12.4volts or so.

Can anyone tell me what they think the problem is?

Is this anything to do with the regulator rectifier?

Please help or point me into the right direction.

Contact me either on here or my email address markadams1987@yahoo.co.uk

    Thanks

The new rectifier had arrived today and so i fitted it with no problems, but somewhat the problem exists but not as bad as it was.

Does the rectifier take time to set in and possibly need running in for it function correctly.

Or is it best for me to take my motorcycle to the local garage and let them see to it, although it maybe costly in the end.

What condition is the battery in ? Is there electrolyte in it, to right levels?

If it'll take a charge, try that and then try it. If symptoms go away, even for a period, you'll know it's the battery.

Btw, don't use a car charger - it'll fubar the battery - you need a low current bike one.

These are about as reliable as you can get.

Check all of the earthing points. In general the Innova is bombproof. I had one myself, great little town bike. Although I used take it much further than town....went all around the south of the country on mine.

Maybe a new battery too....these are cheap to maintain, even by a shop.
