Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Google maps offline

However if you want to do anything e.g. look up restaurants, places of interest, get direction etc you still have to connect to the net. I also assume that if using Navigation and you lose signal, that if you go off the assigned route…

Hi,
I know the latest version of Google Maps supports offline viewing of the cached maps. However if you want to do anything e.g. look up restaurants, places of interest, get direction etc you still have to connect to the net. I also assume that if using Navigation and you lose signal, that if you go off the assigned route the Navigation app will be unable to reroute.

Is there a way to do any/all off this offline too e.g have it cache restaurants in a certain area also?
