Amazing setup, Deceit. How do you find the 31:9 coming from 3 screens-think you has 3 x27" before?

I didn't think I would like it, I went from 3 28" 1200p monitors, I miss the extra pixel height in games from then to 3 27" 1080p to this. I don't think I would ever go back to 3 monitors again after this. I think I will stick with just this one large monitor and maybe another on top. For gaming it will be this and VR.

    I've a similar sentiment.

My only issue with 21:9 is the PITA switching netflix extensions on and off to deal with the aspect ratio. Although why don't I just use two browsers - doh!

That and twatish decisions like that of Bethusda not to support 21:9 natively.

I have a 42" screen right behind this one at my Bed for watching Netflix, xbox movies and the likes so its not too bad. When movies are working with 21/9 they look amazing though.

What's 21:9 support like for games in general, these days?

    Unfortunately very mixed

Some games dont support it at all or they require flawless widescreen as a work around

It is annoying in the latest Tomb Raider that game play is 21:9 but movie sequences arent

I've only tried bf4, h1z1, Arma 3 and Black ops 3. All supported it natively.

Everything I've played has been supported other than mgs v phantom pain. Never switching back from 21:9

Is that a tiny fan on the side of that card?

  • Registered Users Posts: 36,163 ✭✭✭✭ED E

    Its a mother-fookin tank of a card.

I still have no idea why that (what, 40mm?) fan is there. It can't be used for anything except to drown out the coil whine. :P

Result of my first night alone without wife in 9 months, and a bottle of Jameson.

    GquVXNZ.jpgiHPUtO2.jpgPVCK7Ih.jpg54LPffY.jpgJzw3GqO.jpg5gKItNF.jpgGquVXNZhmvMu

    Switched from 2500k 16gb ddr3 and gtx970 to

    Core i7 6700k
    16gb ddr4 corsair 2400mhz
    Msi gtx 980ti

Was thinking about watercooling this whole thing, but even overclocked this thing is quiet. Noctua fans do help.

Drunkenly purchased tech upgrades are always the best ones. Most of mine happen that way too :D

No post here since March! Criminal! Anyways some of you may have seen that I sold my desk build on adverts. This was due to a 'suggestion' from the lovely wife that the thing was taking 'too much fecking room'. I downsized but let the imagination go a bit wild. Apologies for image sizes, imgur no longer offers different size embeds. Boards should enable limiting but anyways....

Knees would be about 6-8 inches from both the output fan grills and glass top.

That's genuinely the kind of stuff you see in a PC Gamer article!

What're temps like around the bollock area?
