    Shopping at Lidl/Aldi?

    Again, not to be yappin!

    Thats some serious overhang!

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,721 ✭✭✭✭CianRyan

Yeah it's pretty crazy. He had it strapped on fairly well though, two straps around the back.

That is the worst use of a transporter I've ever seen.

The problem is the overhang will create a massive swing radius when he turns rather than the chances of it falling off .

    Yeah, that's also true.
Well, not my problem anyway, I simply took his money and that was that. :)

Mod: don't quote pics, 24 hour ban.

I reckon that guy might be in a spot of bother if the Traffic Corps were to come across him on the way back to his yard.

If it were me getting rid of it I reckon every second bit would be gone of the car before the breaker gets his paws on it:P. Kinda defeats the purpose I suppose!

I would have taken bits off but I've no where to keep them, did t want half a car outside the house either. Lads messing, getting into it and ****.

Got back at 2am in the morning from the UK with this. Passat CC GT170 TDI. Very happy with it so far and its still quite rare which I like. Crappy phone pics for now till I get around to taking some proper ones.

Nay, but I noticed you were messing around with a blue estate yourself a while back.

  • Registered Users Posts: 23,694 ✭✭✭✭L-M

Aye. There was at least four 01 Golf estates registered to the same company, was wondering if yours was one of them. All that colour.

I did see a 01 in the same colour down the Offaly way a couple of years back. My yoke seemed to be based around Drogheda before I got a hold of it.

They're all 01 D 854-- there was two of them on donedeal recently, one with an engine seized. Big coincidence, really.

    EDIT:

Funny really as mine had twice that on it.

Mighty cars, assuming it is the 90 or 110hp one. Though mine is nearing 200,000 and there is no sign of a flywheel or clutch in the service history.

Well, if mine ever breaks I know there are a few more bopping about to replace it :p

Bought mine with 226 and sold it within 249 a year later. Most reliable car I ever had.

That and it can accommodate 5 hay bales with ease ;)

I have 44k on it and the biggest problem was an oil seal needing replacement about 6 months into ownership. Any other problems I have had are me nit picking or worrying over nothing but nothing has ever gone wrong to stop it getting from A to B.

I scrapped an N15 a couple of years back too, same problem, no place to store parts if I stripped it but there seems to be plenty of guys in the UK looking for bits and bobs for their GTI conversions.
