Did God create man twice in the Bible?

Ahoy, saw this earlier and have to say, it's something I've never noticed before, but it does raise some interesting questions:

"A few verses to note before I begin (as they come in handy later):

Genesis 1:22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

Notice that he does NOT say REPLENISH the Earth.

Now, here is the first creation of humanity. It comes BEFORE the seventh day.

Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

Now. First, you have God having an apparently MPD conversation with himself. He calls himself "us"... OR... there is an US.

Additionally, mankind is created MALE AND FEMALE at the same time. Furthermore, they are to REPLENISH the Earth. You cannot "replenish" that which has not been "plenished" in the first place (to use a play on words).

Genesis 1:31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Note that humanity is created on the sixth day.

Genesis 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

God is done. He's finished. He goes off to rest... BUT... we have a problem!

Genesis 2:5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.

Oopsie doodles, Myself, We made a mistake and We did not make a man to till the ground! We must to make one to till the ground, since we have all these supervisors with dominion over the earth, and NO ONE to till the ground!

Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

9 And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

God creates a man, and he plants a garden in Eden. An orchard, more specifically.

Genesis 2:16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Note in this verse that God says EATING of the tree will make you die. Additionally, he states you'll die that very day. Of course, christians excuse this with the whole "a day is a thousand years to god" business.

Genesis 2:18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.

A contradiction, what a surprise. Animals were created on the fifth day, according to the first account, and pretending for a second that "man and woman" were Adam and Eve (which it wasn't, because this story is taking place AFTER the seventh day)... it's still a problem because this account says Adam was created before the birds and the beasts.

Genesis 2:20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.

    21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;

22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

God, apparently, first created Adam, then animals, then Eve. So they were not created together, contrary to the first account in which animals were created, then humans at the same time. THEN, even after the humans were created, there was still no one to till the ground, so Adam is created and stuck IN THE GARDEN."

    Or maybe it's allegory.

Well it's in the Bible, God's word direct to mankind according to some, doesn't it deserve scrutiny?

Genesis 1:22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.

Notice that he does NOT say REPLENISH the Earth.

Now, here is the first creation of humanity. It comes BEFORE the seventh day.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Same word/phrase in Hebrew for "be fruitful, multiply and fill" in both cases. KJV not the best version to use since it often translates the same word in different ways to avoid repetition when reading aloud.

Try NASB as a more literal word for word translation.
Now. First, you have God having an apparently MPD conversation with himself. He calls himself "us"... OR... there is an US.

The only US there is is one that has creative ability, as opposed to him saying it to pre-existent humanlike figures. Possible explanation is that it is a reference to the Trinity. :)
Additionally, mankind is created MALE AND FEMALE at the same time. Furthermore, they are to REPLENISH the Earth. You cannot "replenish" that which has not been "plenished" in the first place (to use a play on words).

See above - KJV has led you astray!
    Genesis 2:3, Genesis 2:5

Left out a very important verse - v4 which introduces a new section. Ch 2 is a retelling of part of the creation account. the phrase in v4 'Here are the generations of" appears several times in Genesis - it is a literary device marking a new section, signaling a shift of focus to a new character or focus.

So here we have a zooming in to the time frame covered by Genesis 1 and a focusing on the creation of male and female - all on day 6.
Note in this verse that God says EATING of the tree will make you die. Additionally, he states you'll die that very day. Of course, christians excuse this with the whole "a day is a thousand years to god" business.

Ah - no we dont. Adam and Eve did start to die on that day. Incidentally, again the Hebrew says more literally "in the day you eat of it dying you will die". Possibly hinting at the start of the procedure rather than the culmination of it.

Only if you insist on reading it in a woodenly sequential manner unsupported by the literary structure. The animals had been formed, no reference to when, simply before man, and were brought to man not to find a partner(!) but to underline that Adam was alone, ("which was not good") and to underline the special provision God made for him in making Eve. Remember the events of ch 2 are still the 6th day.
